NEW - DPA Photogrammetry System

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the latest DPA system in UK. DPA (Digital Photgrammetric Analysis) is a photogrammetric measurement system that enables mobile, non-contact inspection of all types of components. The system enables rapid measurement of both shape, geometry, positional tolerances and CAD comparisons, all performed on site - the time-consuming transportation of large objects to fixed bed CMMs are no longer necessary.
DPA uses a high resolution digital camera as the acquisition device. The object to be measured is simply photographed from a variety of different viewing locations. The hand-held camera offers unrivalled flexibility, especially when used in narrow environments or hazardous areas. Prior to taking the photographs, all features of the component relevant to the inspection are either signalized by applying low-cost, stick on targets, or they are located using a range of special adapters (supplied with the system); adapters exist for identifying reference points, hole locations, hidden points, trim edges, etc. The user can also create his own adapters in special cases. Once photographed, the user can also extract features directly from the pictures without the need for targets.
Having taken a series of photographs, they are downloaded using a standard USB cable, or they can be downloaded in real time using the integrated wireless connection between camera and PC. The 3D coordinates that are automatically created after the photographs have been downloaded can then be imported directly into the user's own measuring software, such as Metrolog XG.
The DPA package is delivered with the latest NIKON D2x digital camera, which has a WLAN-connection and a resolution of 4288 x 2848 (12 million) pixels. Additionally, the standard package includes scale bars, coded and standard targets, and the necessary adapters and software.
