EasyRef Modular CMM Fixtures for Large Measuring Applications

For larger applications, such as "body in white" inspection, the EasyRef system provides a simple yet incredibly powerful and cost effective solution. The system is equally at home holding single components or complete assemblies, such as bar bodies.

Based on a vast choice of standard foundation frames, the system can be supplied in many sizes, from 500mm up to 4000mm in length. Bespoke frame assemblies can also be designed to suit specific applications e.g. long frames, sliding frames, cubes, etc. The frames are enhanced by the use of sliding cross beams and variable length columns, each having integral scales providing rapid positioning in X, Y and Z axes. Final location of the part is determined using standard EasyFix components.

The parts can be mounted on the fixture in a "free" position for ease of measurement according to the CMM type. Alternatively, the system can be used to locate the part in a pre-determined reference system (e.g. car-line co-ordinates) using conveniently located reference points (spheres) on the fixture frame for rapid component alignment.

As an added benefit, the optional Rainbow software provides users with a computer aided design and documentation tool.
